Does MYOBLOC Work For Wrinkles?
An Aesthetic Provider's Journey With MYOBLOC After Experiencing Botox Immunity

Neurotoxins, like Botox, have long been the gold standard for wrinkle reduction. But what happens when they become less effective or stop working altogether? For some individuals, “Botox immunity” can leave them searching for alternative wrinkle-relaxing solutions.
If you’ve been wondering, “Does MYOBLOC work for wrinkles?” Stacie Isler, PA-C, can confidently say yes, it is possible! See what it was like for her.
But First: Can You Be “Immune” to Botox?
Yes, some individuals can experience resistance to Botox and other botulinum type A neurotoxins. As for the cause of “Botox immunity,” a few educated theories suggest overuse of the neurotoxin and autoimmune diseases can reduce the efficacy of neuromodulators over time. While resistance is rare (between 0.5% to 1.5% of patients), it can happen, leading some to explore alternatives like MYOBLOC.

What Is MYOBLOC?
MYOBLOC is a botulinum toxin type B neurotoxin traditionally used for treating medical conditions such as cervical dystonia. While it’s not currently FDA-approved for wrinkle reduction, aesthetic providers often use it safely and effectively off-label to achieve results similar to other popular neurotoxins.
This option has provided new hope for those who no longer respond to traditional botulinum type A treatments.
Stacie’s Experience With MYOBLOC
After experiencing Botox immunity, herself, and being neurotoxin-free for years, Stacie was excited to try MYOBLOC.
“I have no idea if this is gonna work for me, but what I can tell you is that all I want for Christmas is a frozen face!”
-Stacie Isler, PA-C
Initial Results – 1 to 3 Days After Treatment
As expected, Stacie noticed no immediate changes on the day of her treatment and retained full muscle movement in her face. By day three, however, she noticed a positive change.
“I started to see results, and that hasn’t happened in probably four years! But, an important lesson: trust the process. At only day three, I had some asymmetry and one brow was much higher. I had to remember to be patient.”
-Stacie Isler, PA-C
Final Results – 10 Days After Treatment
At the 10-day mark, Stacie saw significant improvements with minor brow ptosis, which is common with frontalis muscle injections. Her crow’s feet and “mean face” lines showed marked improvement, leaving her thrilled with the results.
MYOBLOC Worked For Stacie – & It May Work For You!
Stacie’s success with MYOBLOC offers hope to others experiencing Botox resistance. While not FDA-approved for wrinkles, MYOBLOC has proven to be a powerful off-label alternative for this provider. MYOBLOC might be worth discussing with your aesthetic provider if you’re exploring options beyond botulinum type A neurotoxins.
Note: We do not currently offer MYOBLOC at Donaldson, but are actively exploring it as a viable option for our patients.
